Hi Priya - thanks for stopping by and sharing. Yes I agree - old stories can be so helpful to ground us especially as modern life can seem so complex. I am also learning how to be in the part of the story when I am lost and not yet home. I find these stories helpful to understand the cycle. How about you?
Catriona, I was introduced to mythic journeys, fairy tales, and working with my dreams when I was at my most lost. It has helped me reclaim myself even as I realize that it’s probably a work of a lifetime. I think every one of my posts is about the circular nature of these patterns! Thanks.
That is awesome Priya - that is a real lived testament to the power of stories and amazing you have been able to harness what you have learned. Yes I have enjoyed some of your posts on these topics - now I think about it!
Thank you Jo. Yes I agree she is best in audio. I love the layers she builds into stories that help us understand ourselves better. I feel its the sort of medicine we miss in so many parts of our lives these days.
Gosh what a beautiful, poetic piece and how lovely that you connected that old tale with trees! I didn't know the tale, but it sounded like something similar to the 'Women who run with the wolves' book.
I too have gotten so much help, guidance and support from trees when I was lost in life (and truly, it felt like I was handless).
Fairy tales and old stories repeatedly show us the way home.

This is beautiful
Thank you Tamsin :)
Beautiful photos, Catriona 🩶
I’m also a fan of Clarissa Pinkola Estes. Mother Night is my current favourite audio book. She’s such an incredible storyteller.
Enjoy spending some time with the trees.

“The trees know we cast off the nonessential of ourselves many times, that we have many seasons of existence.” Love this line.
I didn’t know this story! Now it’s one I will gave to look up. Beautiful tree photos too!
