Thought provoking article Catriona. I’m interested in power dynamics. Thank you. It brings up for me the question of strength and safety. Where do true strength and safety lie?

Hi Juliet - thank you for this reply Juliet. That is a great question. Especially in relation to power. I think for me its been about building up resources to shape this for myself - but ideally we could find this in community and relationship - however my experience is that this is not always realistic and we need to have our own grounding to lean back into. How about you?

Overnight it occurred to me too that when the knowing grows of an inner grounding then our communities and relationships subtly shift. Perhaps because our orientation shifts: we naturally want to share connection and expansiveness rather than looking to the outside to shore up our insecurities. I’ve seen miracles of healing in my own life and those of my wider family. They just seem ‘to happen’. It makes me wonder just how dynamic reality actually is? There’s something I can’t explain going on.

I like the way you express that, ‘we need to have our own grounding to lean back into.’ Yes. That looks true to me. When i really feel into what’s right here inside, there’s an aliveness which is richer and more intimate than anything a place or person could offer. When I experience that glimpse my heart expands and my world transforms and I trust I can navigate what’s in front of me. But then i forget and get caught up in my fears and insecurities again. Love it seems is the answer.

What beautiful words Juliet. I love that glimpse and that knowing of inner richness. All those fears and insecurities - they can be so hard - but even knowing that knowing is beautiful.

Very interesting topic, Catriona! For me, power has mixed meanings, just like money. It seems good when people use it for good, and it's definitely bad when people use it or hold on to it for bad purposes. A great one to ponder on, and I'll definitely get that book by Robert Greene. 👌

Also, this is related to acting like a victim, isn't it? You either do that or you act from your inner power...
